October 17 is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. This year, we shall celebrate the role of children and their families in the fight against poverty.
The United Nations are listening. Together with people from all walks of life, we will gather at Rizal Park in Manila to share stories of pain and triumph, renewing our commitment to stop poverty.
ABOUT OCTOBER 17
Children and young people play important roles in the fight against poverty. They provide valuable insights acquired from their personal daily struggles. On October 17 at Rizal Park in Manila, they will share their stories to the entire world and we need your help to make this happen.
October 17 is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. The Philippines alongside the United Nations and many other countries commemorate this day to demonstrate how we can work together to respect the human rights and dignity of people living in poverty. Organizations, communities, and individuals from all walks of life gather together at Rizal Park to celebrate successes, encourage each other in the face of challenges, and renew their commitment in helping address poverty.
We are calling for volunteers and partners to help us campaign and mount the program with our communities.
If you are a videographer, blogger, graphics artist, journalist, member of a CSR group, or just an individual seeking to collaborate with us in this campaign, please leave a message for Icia de Guzman through www.facebook.com/ATD.Philippines.
We need help in creating short videos, blog posts, news features, and graphic materials to create awareness.
Families living in poverty will travel from various communities to share their stories and take part in creating solutions at Rizal Park on October 17. We need your help in covering the costs of transportation.
